First, Congratulations to all the teams on another wonderful season! Our end of season banquet is right around the corner. For the second year, our celebration will be held at the Westchester Broadway Dinner Theater. It is a fun night for the girls to get dressed up and be recognized for their efforts and achievements from the season.  We will be having a silent auction with gift baskets donated by each team. In the past we have had some very nice baskets which have generated a good amount of money to help in paying for the teams going to Nationals. Each team is requested to donate a gift basket. Example of previous baskets donated are: Beach theme, BBQ theme, Lottery, Movie, Theater tickets, Sporting event tickets, Golf outings, etc… Please bring your team basket to the banquet.

-All Metro teams (including Harrison, Ardsley, and Fox Lane teams) will celebrate on:

-All Travel teams will celebrate on:

Monday, June 11 from 6pm to 10pm

The deadline for response is May 14^th (for 5/23) and June 1^st  (for 6/11).  These are hard deadlines so register NOW!  The cost for parents and guests is $32.00; Players and Coaches are FREE!

On Saturday January 7th, 14 Black announced their New Year's Resolution!!  To WIN GEVA regionals and go to Nationals!!  

WOW!!!  What an outstanding performance from 14Black finishing the day as the runner up champions for this year's New Year's Classic!!!    Undefeated all day till finals and then losing to Hurricane's 14s in an amazing three set match!!! 

"Outstanding!!!"  is how coach Dan, described his teams NY Classic performance.   "We had great play and a lot of stepping up from every member of the team!"  "Gillian Stieglitz, was a monster blocker at the net with several key blocks and kills to help our team" Stated by coach Dan who wanted to talk more about all his players but was cut off by this reporter because of time.   He did mention that he was very proud of Outside Hitter and Captain Julia Mines, who led her team to an outstanding performance but most of all stepped up and took control of her passing.  "Melissa Tringali our libero, was an integral part to our team's defense and serve receive." Quotes coach Altro.   And this reporter would like to say, Hats off to all of 14Black's setters with an author's note of "Great Job" to Julie Greco who did an outstanding job running the 14Black offense but needs to remember to tell coach when she is in pain!!!

Again, this reporter and Coach Altro would love to talk more about 14Black but time is limited.  But  I will say this, if this is what we have to look forward to the rest of the season, I am sure we are going to have a TON to talk about!!!  Great Job and GO Downstate!!!
